My Seventh Act

A Child's Christmas!
On Saturday, December 11th of 2010, there was a Kiwanis Christmas event at the Joyful Servant Lutheran Church. I was volunteering as a part of Key Club (later happily appointed Key Club member of the month).
The event had several different stations where children could move to and from while having a fun time doing different projects; such as a coloring contest (where if you colored in a picture of Santa, you could enter your name into a drawing for an apron), snowflake decorating, donation jar decorating, letters to Santa (next which was a set-up with a snowy background, a gingerbread mailing box, and a UPS man), reading time with Santa, and more.
The kids had a blast and I definitely enjoyed myself. I moved from directing traffic into the room where the event was held, to the coloring contest, to the letters to Santa, then afterwords; cleanup.

Remember: There are so many little volunteering acts you can be a part of that are not only immediately gratifying, but fun for you! To enjoy your little acts of kindness, just keep your eyes open and be an active member of your community.
